If your trees could talk...Carbohydrate monitoring for improved yield

What do plant carbohydrate tell you about a plant?
Will knowing more about carbohydrate stores help you to help them?
How will measuring plant carbohydrates help you improve production?

There are multiple benefits for growers to use tools like carbohydrate sampling including improved nutrient budgeting and management practices.

Understanding how trees use carbohydrate stores to access nutrients is a crucial part of orchard management. Application timing, pruning practices and crop growth stage, soil properties, and irrigation management all affect how plants use their carbohydrate stores to grow and produce yield.

Join Growcom and precision-ag farming experts from Agri Technovation at a grower workshop in Childers or Mareeba, to discuss benefits of measuring plant carbohydrates and applying this information to finetune nutrient budgeting.

Workshop presenters are;

  • International fruit researcher - Dr Elmi Lotze

  • Plant physiologist - Wilme Brown

  • Soil scientist - Gareth Glasspool

  • Agronomist - Jonathan Freeman

  • Growcom Hort360 Facilitators - Paula Ibell and Michelle Haase.

Workshops are intended for tree crop growers and will be held in Childers and Mareeba.

Cost: $150 per business (max 2 attendees per business).
