The removal of key Ergon tariffs in 2021 is expected to result in yet another significant increase in energy costs for growers. Feedback to-date with this issue is that growers are not aware of potential cost increases or solutions to reduce costs.
Results from a recent audit of 10 businesses found five out of the 10 were facing significant increases in costs ranging from $4000 to $28,740 per year. Growcom anticipates that a large percentage of Energy240 participants will save more than $2500 through simple actions such as identifying the correct energy tariffs.
