Disaster Planning & Flood Risk Mitigation In Farm Businesses

This project will test the use of flood risk maps and other mapping tools to support farm businesses to develop disaster mitigation strategies and resilience plans.

Through the project, Growcom will work closely with 6 case study growers in the horticulture industry. A range of maps, spatial imagery, downscaled climate projections, and disaster planning resources will be used to analyse risks and identify options to improve farm resilience to extreme weather events and flooding.

The project will help further develop industry disaster planning tools and make recommendations to the Queensland Government regarding resilience-building investments that would assist agricultural businesses in a changing climate.
