Funded by the Queensland Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (DRME) and delivered by the Queensland Farmers’ Federation (QFF) and it’s member organisations, including Growcom, the objective of the Energy Savers program is to assist farmers reduce energy costs by supporting the accelerated adoption of improvements in on-farm energy use.
The program will assist business owners to identify what equipment or processes are using the most energy and what options are available to upgrade equipment or implement new processes that will achieve energy savings or productivity improvements.
Growcom will facilitate the audit of horticultural businesses who applied for the program in 2018. Those growers will then be able to access a Government co-contribution grant of up to $20,000 per business to help implement audit recommendations.
