Latest research on the agenda for vegetable growers in Gatton, Applethorpe (13.10.06)

Vegetable growers will have the chance to hear the latest information about climate change at information meetings next Thursday 19 October in Gatton and on Wednesday 1 November in Applethorpe.

Organised by Growcom’s Industry Development Officer, Kate Dunn, the meetings will feature Peter Deuter from the Queensland Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries discussing the possible effects of climate change on farm production.

The Applethorpe meeting will also feature a discussion about the Queensland Government’s initiative: Asian Markets for Horticulture. Both meetings will ask growers to give their opinions about what they consider to be the gaps in research and development for their crops.

The Applethorpe agenda will also include a showcase of local seed companies and their products.

The meetings are free and will be held as follows:

  • Gatton DPI&F research station: Thursday 19 October, from 5pm

  • Applethorpe DPI&F: Wednesday 1 November, from 6pm
